Healthy eating during the winter -Beat the winter munchie syndrome


When your stuck inside day after day and suffering from the effects of the winter blues you tend to eat more junk food. With the festive season upon us and all those lovely baked goods and candies to choose from, it’s no wonder that we easily pack on from 10 to 20 lbs in the matter of a few weeks. Some days you just don’t have the energy to hit the gym. Instead take a few short walks to get the fresh air that you need and clear your head. Spend time in meditation and prayer for your neighbours, family and friends. Always make sure you have healthy snacks already prepared in the fridge. You want something that you can grab within a moments notice. At times you will not feel like peeling and cutting up veggies to snack on. So instead pre-plan your nutritional snacks and keep lots of granola bars on hand. You can cut them up into bite sized pieces and have a cup of tea or coffee with them. Always have a magazine or book to read while you eat. It helps pass the time and your brain needs the exercise. Try not to become a zombie in front of the television by watching movies or playing video games. The new Wii games and accessories are fabulous to have fun and stay in shape at the same time!
