Idea Girl Consulting Business Plan 2009 – What do I say?  I’m not exactly sure what I want to do.  I thought I would write a Historical Novel in 30 days like NaNoWriMo and have it published 6 months later.  I should call this part of my life “Great Expectations.”

 It’s been almost a year and I’m rewriting the beginning of the book.  Writing a novel is much harder than I thought it would be. 

I created a blog and starting posting business info and got bored with the whole thing.  So I decided to start posting entertainment news, clips and movies.  I was inspired by Perez Hilton to start my own entertainment blog.  I was also inspired by Paris Hilton to believe in myself and do something that I really like to do.

I found that my traffic began to double daily and the numbers game had begun.  It was addictive checking in with site meter, what can I post to get the most traffic?  Who and what will draw a crowd?  You know I could probably sell this knowledge but I’m having too much fun to think about that! 

 Perez Hilton is famous for knowing the latest gossip in Hollywood.  He’s rich and successful so I wanted to kind of be like him, but in a different light. 

I wanted the wealth, without the price of fame.  Do think that is possible?  Can I continue to hide under a rock or do I have to really get out there to reach my goal? 

Today as I was walking downtown I was picturing what it would be like to have the Paparazzi following me all over town.  I think I would find it rather annoying and discouraging if they were to print negative stuff about me. 

I’ve never handled any type of criticism very well and I’ve since learned to toughen up to some point but not totally as much as I’d like to be.  Will I ever achieve my goal to be a famous writer? I hope so!

 I’ve always had this goal to make a million dollars, but I wanted to sell something really cool.  Something that I had invented or made myself, maybe it will be my books, maybe it will be a website idea.  I’m still waiting to see where the Universe directs me! 

I’ll let you know my progress in three months time.  By then the foggy brain syndrome should have cleared by now.

 

 

Idea Girl Consulting – St. Catharines Small Business Enterprise Centers

I just visited the St. Catharines Small Business Enterprise Centres and the receptionist Melissa Ioannoni did a fabulous job for me. 

It’s great to find a secretary that knows exactly what I need when I need it.  She helped me with information regarding starting up my own business.  She gave me all sorts of website information and documentation on programs that are available through Niagara College with Career Planning. 

Have you come to a cross road in your life and now it’s time for a new career path?  Have you considered starting your own company?  The Enterprise Centre is here to help. 

I filled out a form requesting assistance with a business plan, mentoring and networking with the Downtown St. Catharines Association.  The great thing is that all the information regarding the cities events will be emailed to me. 

Now I can pick and choose which events I would like to attend and decide which one’s I would like to do a write up on.  Some things I find bore me to tears, so I will steer away from those.  

I’d rather go to something where I can learn something new, it just makes the “job” all that more interesting!
