Career Goals - Change of life

Career Goals - Change of life

It’s hard when your in your 40’s to decide what you want to do, when one door closes in your life. Leaving a career after doing the same thing for 10 years can be hard. But times are changing, the economy is in a different frame of mind and technology is progressing as time goes by.

Everything we’ve been accustomed to has changed. Our computers are faster and more complicated then ever. Banking is a the touch of a button, TV programs are instant. All that we do is done lickety split. So that when we have to wait a few minutes in traffic, it drives us batty. Were used to getting everything here and now, so we get ourselves in debt by using credit cards and paying for an item 6 months down the road.

There is a lack of patience in society now, that has grown even uglier as time has gone by. People don’t take the time to develop relationships with their loved ones or friends. We use email, facebook or other social networks to keep in contact with people. What happened to the good old days, when you get together, have dinner, a few drinks and relax together?

I find it uncomfortable at times attending a party, because I am so used to working on my computer all day/night that I’ve lost the art of interacting with people face to face. I find myself getting more impatient when I am out shopping or running errands. I never had much of a temper, but now I do.

I’m not sure if it’s the pre menopause that I’m going through, or all the changes I’ve had to make in the past 6 years. It’s like my life’s been turned upside down over and over again, but you know what, I always end back up on my feet. Just like a cat does when it falls through the screen from a 2nd floor window, it always lands on it’s feet then carries on like nothings happened!

I guess as humans we can take some initiative and make career goals and hope that we follow through with them. Don’t be too disappointed when things don’t go as planned. There is always a reason and a purpose for things to happen the way they do. The Universe sometimes overrides our thought, feelings and desires, because it wants us to learn something new or gain some insight into something that will be used down the road with another person.

So don’t sweat it, just do what you have to and keep on going. Facing Obstacles is all part of living the big life, just make sure you have some fun along the way!

The Munroe Mansion

The Munroe Mansion

I’ve posted a few excerpts from my novel The Munroe Mansion on my Squidoo site, it is the prelude to The Mansion On The Hill.

The story begins when Joseph Munroe flees from England to Canada and meets the lovely Ophirah Ramsbottom. He falls in love but then Lorraine and Elsa Picard come to town and Ophirah is worried that Joseph’s roving eye will get the best of him.

The Munroe Mansion is a story set in the late 1800s and it’s about the secrets, affairs, spells, witchcraft, blackmagic of the Munroe family and the residents of Place Royale in Quebec Canada.

Joseph Munroe will soon find out that the Munroe Mansion holds a curse, and it will change his life forever!
