I just found out about Earth Hour today, and looked it up on Google. I had heard of Earth Day, but I wasn’t too familiar with “Earth Hour.”
It was fun sitting in the dark from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m with no distractions from the TV, radio or computer. I wrote an article about it on: http://ideasaboutlife.today.com
I was pretty busy today updating Squidoo and making new websites, I listed them under “Today’s Ideas for March 27th & 28th, 2009″ on my Idea Girl Consulting site: http://www.squidoo.com/ideagirlconsulting
I’ll be working hard this weekend to get the other 10 lenses finished for Squidoo, so I can apply for the “Giant Squid” Status. They have been sending me notices after I made 35 lenses, so I made it a goal for March.
I didn’t work on my novel at all this week, I’m enjoying doing something different for a change. Maybe I will get back to updating it next month. I did write a revision for the beginning of the story of Part One – The Trip to Canada in “The Mansion on the Hill by Linda Michelle Randall.”
I did manage to go through 300 Twitter Follower emails! I still have another 350 to go, put I’m getting around 120 daily emails from Twitter. Some seem to be repeats, I’m not to sure who to contact about it.
I was happy to see on CNN, yesterday, that President Barack Obama has made a website where suggestions and questions can be posted directly to the White House. I’m not sure if it’s because of my idea that I sent in an email to the White House, but glad to see were on the same page.
Even though I live in Canada and was never a politically inclined person. This year, for some strange reason, Barack Obama caught my eye and my heart. I see a man who is wise beyond his years, one who strives to do the best he can for his country and one who shows he truly cares for the well being of americans. A family man, a God fearing man, he has all the wisdom of the world and the brains to use it!
I know that everything he does will be a success, because we the people believe in him and we respect a man who shows us honesty and integrity. It’s important to support your political leaders, even if they are a different party.
When we all band together, look what we can do. Tonight we joined with the world, and made a difference. The Earth had time to breathe and we had time to spend with our loved ones. It was a special moment, one I’ll never forget.
I like seeing a President that values his family and mine. I’m in Canada, but I am affected by what happens to the United States, it’s a ripple effect. The U.S is not alone, they have everyone around them to consider. I know in the future they will keep that in mind!
